These module covers the key principles and practical requirements for highway excavation and reinstatement works. It includes safe excavation techniques, the correct reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials, restoration of sub-base and base layers using non￾bituminous materials, application of cold-lay bituminous materials for road surface repairs, and the reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways. Learners will gain the knowledge needed to carry out compliant, safe, and durable reinstatement works in accordance with industry standards and highway authority requirements
